Cleaning up the Hop yard

10/20/2014

Fall means it's time to prep the hop yard for winter. I spent some time this weekend cutting the bailing twine down, trimming the hop vines, and weeding. I also drive down the lane to check out how the barley is doing and it's coming up nicely!

Visiting Montana State University!

This week my husband and I will be visiting the Montana State University in Bozeman, MT and speaking with a professor about malting equipment they have developed. We are very excited to pick their brain and visit a part of the country that specializes in the growing and processing of barley! I'm investigating the local restaurants as well to see if they have any barley on the menu for us to try. We will then be making the long 3 day drive back to Ohio, so wish us luck!

    Barley 31

We are a family farm getting our Malting and Food Truck business started. We felt a void in locally grown and malted barley. In addition to being a Malting Co., we would like to open a food truck. The truck would use our barley and beef from our farm as well as other locally sourced ingredients. The menu will focus on using local, quality ingredients to make delicious comfort food. Please follow our progress!
